THE LAMENTATION OF THE OLD PENSIONER SUMMARY IN ENGLISH

The speaker is an old man. Now he is like a broken tree and nobody cares for him. But when he was young he was greatly admired by his friends. They sat by the fire side and told stories of love and political intrigues.
He feels jealous of the youngmen who are enjoying life as he used to enjoy when he was young. In his youth he loved young, beautiful women. He still thinks about those days. He blames time for his present condition. Time has brought about this change.
