“How Free Is the Press” is written by Dorothy L.sayers. He was born in 1893 in England. She was one of the first women to graduate from Oxford University. In this chapter she expressed her strong idea against misuse of press.
She says that the press should be free to write about the fact but at the same time it should also be handled very carefully. At the time of war the press shout not be free but after the war again it should be free. She explains the freedom of outer source press should publish the fact related to the government, politics and society. She says sometimes this freedom is very harmful, people related to press start getting benefit for personal reason. She says the press is not as free as it should be. Actually the press is chiefly controlled by two factors. First is interest of the advertisers and second the wealth of the press owner. Press never tries to write against advertisers because advertisers give him business. And also when the owner is very rich, there is good control on the press of the owner so that time owner changed the fact to support the victim. She also says that the good journalist always write the fact and never try to cheat common people.
